·          THE SERIES: Martin leads the series, winning the only meeting, 39-7, in last year’s Division I area playoff game in San Angelo.
·          HOW THEY GOT HERE: Martin finished tied for first in 4-5A and is the top Division I seed from that district. San Angelo Central finished first in 2-5A, and is the top Division I seed.
·          TEN AGAIN: For the second consecutive year, Martin has won 10 games, equaling the school record. A win this week will give the Warriors 11 wins for the first time.
·          QUICK HICKS: Martin’s Kyle Hicks rushed for 210 yards last week against Midland, the third-highest playoff total in school history. J.E. McKissic holds the school (and AISD) playoff record with 273 yards against Mansfield in 1997, while older brother Dwight McKissic ran for 229 yards against Haltom in 1996.
·          AGAINST THE BEST: Martin was 2-1 against this year’s playoff teams, beating Bowie and Lamar, and losing to Arlington. San Angelo Central was 4-2, beating El Paso Franklin, Amarillo, Lubbock Monterey and Amarillo Tascosa, and losing to Abilene Cooper and Midland.

·          THE SERIES: This is the first meeting between Bowie and El Paso Franklin.
·          HOW THEY GOT HERE: Bowie tied for third in 4-5A and is the lower Division I seed from that district. El Paso Franklin finished first in 1-5A, and is the top Division I seed.
·          DOUBLE YOUR PLEASURE: Bowie is 3-0 in area playoff games, averaging 42.5 points per game in those three match-ups.
·          AGAINST THE BEST: Bowie was 2-3 against this year’s playoff teams, beating New Orleans Edna Karr (7-3, entering the Louisiana Class 4A playoffs this week) and Arlington and losing to Dallas Skyline, Martin and Lamar. El Paso Franklin was 3-1 against this year’s playoff teams, beating El Paso Americas, El Paso Montwood and El Paso El Dorado and losing to San Angelo Central.
