WEEK NINE PREVIEWS
DISTRICT 4-5A
Lamar Vikings (4-4, 4-1) at Sam Houston Texans (1-7, 1-4)
·          THE SERIES: The Vikings lead the series, 31-9, and have won the last nine meetings and 24 of the last 26. Lamar also owns a 15-3 edge at Wilemon Field, where the Texans have not beaten the Vikings since 1984.
·          LAST WEEK: Lamar lost its first district game, falling to Martin, 41-20, while Sam Houston was torched by North Crowley, 75-28.
·          STOPPING THE BLEEDING: Sam Houston set some more of the wrong kind of records last week. The 75 points allowed by the Texans is the most in school history, topping the previous record of 72, set against Martin three weeks ago. The 75 points is also the second most ever allowed by an AISD team, trailing the 80 surrendered by Arlington High against Forest Avenue in 1924. As if that weren’t enough, the 634 yards allowed by Sam Houston are the most in school history and the third-most in city history.
